- 14 oz Sourdough Loaf
- 10 tbsp Butter (unsalted), softened
- 12 cloves Garlic (peeled)
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/4 tsp Red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 2 tbsp Parsley (roughly chopped, plus more for garnish)
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
- 1/4 tsp Sea salt
- Olive oil for cooking the garlic
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350℉.
- Slice the Loaf: Carefully slice the sourdough loaf into 1-inch thick slices, but do not cut all the way through.
- Prepare the Garlic: Place garlic cloves and red pepper flakes in a small ramekin, drizzle with olive oil, and roast for 20-25 minutes.
- Smash the Garlic: Once cooled, smash the garlic cloves using a fork until creamy.
- Make the Butter Mixture: Combine softened butter, cooked garlic, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, chopped parsley, and Parmesan cheese in a small bowl.
- Spread the Mixture: Generously spread the garlic butter mixture into all the slits of the bread.
- Wrap and Bake: Wrap the bread in foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes until golden.
Notes
You can make this ahead by assembling the garlic bread and refrigerating until ready to bake. Experiment with flavors by adding lemon juice or different cheeses.
