Description

A delightful Sourdough Garlic Bread recipe with a crispy crust and a rich garlic and herb butter filling, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 14 oz Sourdough Loaf
  • 10 tbsp Butter (unsalted), softened
  • 12 cloves Garlic (peeled)
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp Parsley (roughly chopped, plus more for garnish)
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 1/4 tsp Sea salt
  • Olive oil for cooking the garlic

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350℉.
  2. Slice the Loaf: Carefully slice the sourdough loaf into 1-inch thick slices, but do not cut all the way through.
  3. Prepare the Garlic: Place garlic cloves and red pepper flakes in a small ramekin, drizzle with olive oil, and roast for 20-25 minutes.
  4. Smash the Garlic: Once cooled, smash the garlic cloves using a fork until creamy.
  5. Make the Butter Mixture: Combine softened butter, cooked garlic, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, chopped parsley, and Parmesan cheese in a small bowl.
  6. Spread the Mixture: Generously spread the garlic butter mixture into all the slits of the bread.
  7. Wrap and Bake: Wrap the bread in foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes until golden.

Notes

You can make this ahead by assembling the garlic bread and refrigerating until ready to bake. Experiment with flavors by adding lemon juice or different cheeses.
