Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sourdough starter
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 egg
Instructions
- Combine the sourdough starter, milk, and melted butter in a mixing bowl.
- Add the egg and mix well until all ingredients are combined smoothly.
- Whisk together the flour, dark brown sugar, granulated sugar, salt, and cinnamon in a separate bowl.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until a dough begins to form.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size, approximately 120 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick and spread with softened butter.
- Sprinkle the rolled-out dough with the cinnamon sugar mixture, then roll it tightly from one end to the other.
- Cut the rolled dough into slices and place them in a greased baking dish.
- Pour the heavy cream over the rolls, allowing it to soak in as they rise again for about 30 minutes.
- Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes, until they’re golden brown on top.
- Let them cool slightly before serving, and enjoy the cozy warmth!
