Description

A nostalgic and comforting appetizer, these Pigs in a Blanket are perfect for gatherings or cozy nights in, featuring savory sausages wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package of little smokies or hot dogs
  • 1 package of crescent roll dough
  • Butter (for brushing)
  • Ketchup (for serving)
  • Mustard (for serving)
  • Dipping sauces (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the crescent roll dough on a clean surface and cut it into triangles.
  3. Place a little smoky or hot dog at the wider end of each triangle, then roll it up snugly.
  4. Arrange the wrapped sausages on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Brush the tops with melted butter to give them a gorgeous golden sheen.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until they are beautifully golden brown.
  7. Serve alongside your favorites: ketchup, mustard, or any dipping sauce that makes your heart sing.

Notes

For a make-ahead option, prepare and roll the pigs in a blanket a few hours in advance. Feel free to use puff pastry for a flakier exterior.
