Description

A warm, cheesy breakfast casserole perfect for family brunches or festive gatherings, easy to prepare and delightful to savor.


Ingredients

  • 8 slices of bread, cubed
  • 1 pound sausage, cooked and crumbled
  • 12 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish and place the cubed bread evenly across the bottom.
  3. Top the bread with the cooked sausage and shredded cheese, spreading it out evenly.
  4. Whisk together the eggs, milk, mustard powder, salt, and pepper in a large bowl until well combined.
  5. Slowly pour the egg mixture over the bread and sausage, ensuring that all the bread cubes are soaked.
  6. Cover the dish tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
  7. Take the casserole out of the fridge and allow it to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until the eggs are set and the top is golden brown.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving and garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
