Description

A heartwarming dish featuring tender chicken thighs in a creamy apple cider sauce, perfect for fall evenings.


Ingredients

  • 4 chicken thighs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 apples, cored and sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh thyme for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Place the chicken thighs in the skillet and brown on both sides.
  3. Remove the chicken thighs and set aside.
  4. Add the chopped onion to the skillet, sautéing until translucent.
  5. Pour in the apple cider and bring to a gentle simmer.
  6. Return the chicken thighs to the skillet, cover, and reduce heat.
  7. Braise for about 30 minutes until cooked through and tender.
  8. Stir in the heavy cream until blended with the apple cider.
  9. Caramelize apple slices over medium heat until soft and golden.
  10. Serve chicken hot, topped with sauce and caramelized apples, garnished with thyme.

Notes
