Description

Delightful banana bread cinnamon rolls filled with sweet, spiced sugar and creamy banana, drizzled with cream cheese frosting.


Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Combine mashed bananas, milk, melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract in a large bowl. Mix well.
  2. Mix flour, yeast, and salt in another bowl. Slowly add dry ingredients to wet ingredients until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth, then let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 60 minutes.
  4. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread with softened butter, sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar, then top with sliced bananas.
  6. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into rolls. Place in a greased baking dish.
  7. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk for frosting. Drizzle over warm rolls before serving.

Notes

Add walnuts or pecans for crunch, or mini chocolate chips for a chocolatey twist. Dough can be prepared the night before and refrigerated.
