Description
A creamy fall dessert featuring layers of buttery graham cracker crust, rich cream cheese filling, and tender apples, perfect for Thanksgiving or cozy gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups chopped apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Optional: Whipped cream for serving
- Optional: Caramel sauce for drizzling
Instructions
- Begin by preparing your crust. In a large mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Stir until the crumbs are evenly coated and hold together like wet sand.
- Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×9-inch glass dish to form a solid crust. Make sure to pack it really well to hold its shape.
- In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually mix in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, blending until creamy and fluffy.
- Fold in the chopped apples and cinnamon, allowing the sweet apple mixture to fold seamlessly into your fluffy, cream cheese base.
- Spread the apple mixture evenly over your graham cracker crust, smoothing it out with a spatula.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator to chill for at least 240 minutes (or overnight if you can wait!).
- When you’re ready to serve, slice into squares and top with whipped cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce if you’re feeling indulgent.
