Description

Tender and chewy chocolate chip cookies with a perfect balance of crispy edges and a soft center.


Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.
  3. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add in the vanilla extract and eggs one at a time, mixing until combined.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring just until fully incorporated.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop heaping mounds of dough onto the prepared baking sheet with enough space between each.
  8. Bake for 9-11 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Try adding nuts, coconut, zest, or mint for fun variations. Dough can be made ahead or frozen.
