Description

Tender and sweet, this crockpot chicken is a cozy family favorite, perfect for busy weeknight dinners.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken breasts
  • 1 cup Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in a crockpot, laying them flat without overlapping.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the barbecue sauce, chicken broth, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt and pepper. Stir until well combined.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken in the crockpot, ensuring the chicken is well coated.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the chicken is cooked through and tender enough to shred.
  5. Once done, shred the chicken in the sauce using two forks, mixing everything together for ultimate flavor. Enjoy!

Notes

For meal prep, prepare the night before and cook in the morning. Can use bone-in chicken thighs for richer flavor.
