- 3/4 cup white sugar for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Stir together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Cream together the softened butter and sugar in a large bowl until smooth and fluffy – about 3-5 minutes.
- Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.
- Blend in the dry ingredients into the buttery mixture, until just combined.
- Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls, and place them onto ungreased cookie sheets, leaving space between each ball.
- Flatten each ball gently with the bottom of a glass, and sprinkle with sugar before baking.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until just golden around the edges.
- Let the cookies cool on wire racks, savoring the heavenly smell.
Notes
For variations, add lemon zest, chocolate chips, sprinkles, or nuts. Dough can be refrigerated for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
