Description

A comforting and flavorful slow cooker dish featuring tender cabbage, hearty meat, and zesty sauce, perfect for cozy family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 large head of cabbage
  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey)
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 28 oz can diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and sauté the onion and garlic until translucent.
  2. Add the ground beef (or turkey) into the skillet, breaking it up as it cooks until browned.
  3. Layer a few cabbage leaves at the bottom of the slow cooker, followed by the meat mixture, rice, diced tomatoes, and tomato sauce.
  4. Drizzle with Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  5. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with cabbage and sauce on top.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 360-480 minutes (6-8 hours) or high for 180-240 minutes (3-4 hours).
  7. Serve warm and enjoy!

Make ahead by prepping ingredients the night before. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
