Description

A cozy comfort food classic, these Slow Cooker Sloppy Joes combine rich, zesty beef with melty cheese on soft hamburger buns for a crowd-pleasing meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 16 ounces tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 6 hamburger buns
  • 6 slices yellow cheese

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the ground beef to the pan and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 6-8 minutes until browned.
  3. Transfer the beef to a slow cooker and mix in the tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, mustard, smoked paprika, and additional salt and pepper.
  4. Cook on HIGH for 3 hours or LOW for 6 hours.
  5. Serve the savory meat on the hamburger buns topped with cheese.
