Description

Deliciously chewy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies that are perfect for cozy nights in or sharing with loved ones.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl, then gradually add it to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Stir in the old-fashioned oats, chocolate chips, and optional nuts until evenly distributed.
  6. Scoop tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are just golden brown, and the centers appear slightly underbaked.
  8. Allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Refrigerate cookie dough for up to 3 days before baking for deeper flavors.
