Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl, then gradually add it to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in the old-fashioned oats, chocolate chips, and optional nuts until evenly distributed.
- Scoop tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are just golden brown, and the centers appear slightly underbaked.
- Allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
