Description

A quick and comforting Korean beef dish packed with sweet and savory flavors, perfect for busy weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (lean)
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for a gluten-free option)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (or coconut sugar for a healthier option)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1/2 cup green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Steamed rice (for serving)
  • Optional: sesame seeds (for a crunchy topping)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until it’s tender and juicy, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Once the beef is cooked through, drain any excess grease.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and add in the minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Stir for about a minute.
  4. Next, stir in the soy sauce and brown sugar, letting it melt into the beef.
  5. Add in the black pepper and mix thoroughly. Allow it to simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
  6. Serve the beef over steamed rice, topping it with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes
