- ⅓ cup Low Carb Sugar Substitute, powdered (for glaze)
- ½ teaspoon Heavy Cream (for glaze)
- ⅓ teaspoon Vanilla Extract (for glaze)
- 1 tablespoon Water (if needed for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 390°F (200°C) and line a baking pan with baking paper.
- Combine almond flour, xanthan gum, salt, granulated sugar substitute, and baking powder in a mixing bowl.
- Melt the butter over low heat, then add the vanilla extract. Fold in the flour mixture until a dough forms.
- Allow the dough to cool to room temperature, then mix in the egg until it reaches an elastic consistency.
- Cover the dough with a tea towel and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
- Shape the dough into small balls and place them on the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 10 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 355°F (180°C) and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until golden brown.
- For the glaze, sift powdered sugar substitute into a bowl. Mix in heavy cream, vanilla extract, and water until a thick yet pourable consistency is achieved.
- Roll the baked donut balls in the glaze and serve warm.
Notes
You can refrigerate the dough in advance and bake fresh just before serving for a warm treat.
