Description

A refreshing and vibrant fruit salad with a creamy sour cream base and a hint of orange jello, perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (30-oz) can fruit cocktail in juice
  • 1 (20-oz) can pineapple chunks in juice
  • 1 (8-oz) can mandarin orange slices
  • 1 (10-oz) bag mini marshmallows
  • 1 (24-oz) container of sour cream
  • 1 box orange flavored gelatin

Instructions

  1. Pour all the fruit from the cans into a colander placed over the sink. Allow the juices to drain for four hours.
  2. If time is short, use a clean kitchen towel to gently pat the fruit dry.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sour cream and orange jello powder. Stir until fully combined.
  4. Add the drained fruit cocktail, pineapple chunks, mandarin oranges, and mini marshmallows to the bowl. Gently stir to coat the fruit.
  5. Chill the salad in the refrigerator for at least one hour, though four hours or overnight is best.
  6. Just before serving, give it a quick stir and serve chilled.

Notes

This salad can be made ahead of time and is best enjoyed within a few days. Customize with fresh fruits if desired.
