Description

A delightful twist on classic French toast, perfect for cozy weekend mornings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices of bread (brioche, challah, or whole grain)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Butter or oil for greasing the waffle maker
  • Maple syrup for serving
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your waffle maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.
  3. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak briefly on each side.
  4. Lightly grease the waffle maker with butter or oil.
  5. Place the soaked bread in the waffle maker and close the lid. Cook until golden brown and crispy, about 3-5 minutes.
  6. Carefully remove the waffles and serve warm with maple syrup and a dusting of powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

Make-ahead by soaking the bread overnight for easy cooking in the morning. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
