- 1 cup long grain white rice (uncooked)
- 1 can (10.5 oz) French onion soup (condensed)
- 1 can (10.5 oz) beef broth (or water with beef bouillon)
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, sliced into pats
- 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional garnish: chopped parsley or shredded cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease your baking dish.
- In the baking dish, combine uncooked rice, French onion soup, beef broth, and chopped onions. Stir to mix well.
- Place butter slices evenly over the rice mixture.
- Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake uncovered for another 20–25 minutes until liquid is absorbed and top is golden.
- Let sit for a few minutes, then fluff with a fork and garnish with parsley or cheese before serving.
Notes
Feel free to customize with mushrooms, spinach, or cheese for added flavor. Make ahead and store in the fridge for convenience.
