Description

A comforting and hearty dish featuring tender steak, creamy mushroom soup, and layers of diced potatoes topped with melted cheese.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds of steak (e.g., sirloin or chuck)
  • 4 large potatoes, diced
  • 1 cup of shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 cup of cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Layer the diced potatoes on the bottom of a large crockpot.
  2. Season the steak generously with salt and pepper, then place it on top of the potatoes.
  3. Combine the cream of mushroom soup, chopped onion, and minced garlic in a mixing bowl. Stir well and pour this mixture over the steak and potatoes.
  4. Cover the crockpot and set it to cook on low for 360 minutes, or until the steak is tender and the potatoes are cooked through.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top about 15 minutes before serving, cover, and allow it to melt.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.

Notes

You can prep this dish the night before and cook it in the morning. Leftovers can be stored for up to 3 days in the fridge.
