- 8 ounces elbow macaroni
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the macaroni according to package instructions; add broccoli florets during the last 2 minutes of cooking. Drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute until golden and bubbly.
- Gradually whisk in the milk and bring to a simmer, stirring until thickened and luscious.
- Stir in the cheddar cheese and garlic powder until melted and smooth—oh, that cheesy aroma!
- Combine the cooked macaroni and broccoli with the cheese sauce, season with salt and pepper, and mix well. Serve warm and watch it disappear!
