Description

Tender, savory beef wrapped in fluffy bao buns, perfect for family gatherings or cozy dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Slowly add the warm water and vegetable oil, kneading until a soft dough forms. Cover and let it rise for about 1 hour.
  2. In another bowl, combine the ground beef, soy sauce, oyster sauce, minced garlic, ginger, and green onions. Mix well.
  3. Once the dough has risen, divide it into small pieces. Flatten each piece and place a spoonful of beef filling in the center. Pinch the edges to seal.
  4. Prepare your steamer and place the buns in a single layer. Steam for 15-20 minutes until fluffy and cooked through.
  5. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Make the filling a day ahead to enhance flavors! Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Re-steam to enjoy them fluffy again.
